Why should I choose JAM Dance & Fitness Center?

JAM has a proven track record for being the place where FUN AND SMILES ARE UNLIMITED!  JAM prides itself on the ability to balance learning the proper dance techniques within a fun-filled atmosphere!  Our staff keeps current with today’s music and dance styles....all what your child would want for a dance experience they will never forget!!!!!!!!!!

How can I register?

Registration can be done in person - during registration dates - or by mail.  You cannot register by phone or through our website at this time.

Can I register at any time?

Yes....as long as there is availability, you may register at any time.  To avoid being shut out of a  particular class, we strongly recommend that you register during REGISTRATION WEEK. Classes fill quickly!!!!

What are your hours?

Due to the nature of our business, our studio generally begins operating in early to late afternoon.  Follow the appropriate schedule for your location.

Do you accept credit cards?

Yes.  We accept VISA and Mastercard in our Dix Hills and Bellmore locations.  We do not, at this time, accept credit cards in our Great Neck location.  

Where is your recital?  

Our 2006 Spring Performances will be held at the following schools:
      Great Neck Studio            Great Neck South High School     
      Dix Hills Studio                 Commack Middle School           
      Bellmore Studio                 To Be Announced

Both locations are subject to change at which time our dancers would be notified.

Do you have a dress rehearsal and if so, am I required to stay the entire time?
Yes....we conduct dress rehearsals for both performances...usually the week or day before the actual show.  A time slot is assigned to each dance and posted on our website, as well as in our three locations.  Dancers should arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the time slot and are free to leave once the practice is over.

Can I pay monthly?
No....our tuition payments are divided into two convenient payments.  The first installment is due during September's registration and the second payment during our January registration period.  Please speak with the studio owner if a problem exists.  Different payment plans exist if you participate in our competition program.

Where can I park?
In our Great Neck location, you may park on the NORTH SIDE of the studio.  In our Dix Hills location, parking is available in the front and side parking lots.  HOWEVER....we strongly recommend CARPOOLING or DROP OFF/PICK UP at both studios.  In our Bellmore location, there is municipal parking on both sides of the studio.

What is the difference between JAZZ and HIP HOP?
JAZZ focuses on technique (turns, across the floor steps, jumps, etc.).  HIP HOP puts these moves together to today's music with ATTITUDE, similar to today's music videos!  Students can apply what they learn in class to dance parties!!!! All jazz classes at JAM combine technique and hip hop.

Can I do make-ups?
Yes.....if taken within the paid semester.  No credits will be given AT ANY TIME, 
unless accompanied by a doctor's note for consecutive absences.  

Does JAM do birthday parties?
Yes....our parties are JAM PACKED with dance, music, games and more!  Call or contact us by e-mail at FORJAMDANCERS@AOL.COM for more information and create a party experience your child will always remember.

What does COMPANY mean?
Company represents our more dedicated dancers who perform throughout our JAM year at various festivals, street fairs, benefits, regional competitions and national competitions.  (click here for COMPANY TEAMS).

How do I join Company?
Membership is based on the discretion of the owners.  Those interested should contact Lori, Gina or Michele directly for further discussion or come to our auditions, which are generally held in June at both locations.  Contact our studios directly to obtain specific dates and times.

Do I need to come to Picture Day?
Picture day is not a mandatory event at JAM.  However, we strongly suggest that you attend - it is at no cost to you to take the pictures and your child becomes part of our picture display which we proudly display in our studio each year!

Am I able to see my child dance?
Yes....we have a sitting area with viewing windows outside each of our dance rooms...making it possible for you to watch your child in action!!!
